"Cool Woman"
The Music
I wrote this song for Sharon back in 1997. This version of the song was recorded back in 2011.
There are several recording of the song, but this has always been a favorite version for both Sharon and I. One of the first times I recorded myself playing electric guitar, and it wasn't even mean't to be a guitar part! As the producer of the song, I hear a saxophone solo instead of a guitar, and this recording was meant for the sax player to use as a guide of where I wanted the sax part.
It wasn't until I uploaded the Cool Woman video that I noticed that this version doesn't have drums on it, and the new single will be a lot more polished. Now the sax and the guitar player have to have a little "talk" during the final recording!
The Video
To show off Sharon's photography skills I used her photographs. This video is also a "RoughCut" and I use IMovie as a layup tool for what I refer to as the "blue board" for the music video idea. This video idea is mean't to give the viewer the experience of the beach at night and it's many stages.
As you can tell, I'm a big fan of Ken Burns and his video style.
"The Selfie"
"Sharona" circa 1980-82? Laying out at the beach, listening to the cassette player, she snaps a picture of herself. Enrolled in a photography class, using black and white film, she then developed the film, and created the 8 X 10 glossy that I recently scanned. So I guess this is about as "Selfie" as it gets!

The rest of the notes on the page are where Sharon' has edited my typing/spelling mistakes.
This became part of how a copyrighted early versions of my songs when I didn't have any recorded version of the music.
